nudibranchs

one of my new co-workers had a very cool background on her desktop, so i asked her what it was, because it was very neat-o. it looked like some sort of anime character, but was very intriguing at the same time. apparently, it was a nudibranch, or a toxic “sea slug”.

today, said co-worker sent me a link to the entire series created and photographed by david doubilet for national geographic. i also found a pretty cool flickr set of nudibranchs as well.

  1. Do you want to see one in real life now?

  2. i’d love to! i should really get into scuba diving. i love the ocean so much, and i can only imagine how awesome it would be to dive around here.

  3. Really? Are you sure you want to know of all the critters hidden beneath its surface? You’re already timid enough ;)

  4. yeah, i would probably be a bit scared, but still, i think it would be worth it. nudibranchs would definitely make it worth it.
